Wharton @ Seminole: 8-3
Seminole's penalty troubles ended up paying them a hefty toll as Wharton took an early season win. The Sharks, once being one of the most penalized teams, took a numerous amount of undisciplined penalties that led to their eventual downfall. Ellison, making his first appearance in goal, surrendered 8 goals, although, the blame could hardly be placed on his performance. He faced several breakaway shots, including one in the first 4 minutes of the game. Daniel Zanicchi picked up his first of the season from VJ Wicklen to get Seminole on the board. Freshman Ethan Glore tallied late in the second to give Seminole their second goal. Kariag Gordon, a Seminole forward, picked up a Game Misconduct just 10 seconds after his first goal on a breakaway, but wisely decided to refuse a fight. In the end, the Sharks picked up 38 PIM by the end of the game, 14 by Kariag and 10 by Shawn O'Meara.
Notes: O'Meara was ejected in the third period for an altercation with Wharton's Barron-Clarke. Both players were tossed from the game. Seminole forward Kyle Helmstetter took a high-stick to the throat and did not return.
